Alibaba Chair Jack Ma Reportedly Interested In Acquiring Inter Milan Stake

Alibaba Chair Jack Ma, described as "China's richest man," is reportedly set to purchase Erick Thohir's 31% stake in Inter Milan, according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. According to Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, Ma would invest in Inter through Yunfeng Capital, a fund based in Hong Kong and created with tech tycoon David Yu. Thohir’s share is reportedly valued at "around" €150M ($171M) and that could be the figure Yungfeng pays to buy out the Indonesian. Ma has "close relations" with Inter Milan owner and Suning Group Chair Zhang Jindong, given he owns 20% of the conglomerate (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 1/15). SEMPRE INTER reported Alibaba Communications VP Shuai Wang denied "any and all knowledge" about the possibility of Ma investing in Inter Milan. Wang wrote on his Weibo account, "I have never heard of this story" (SEMPRE INTER, 1/15).
