Event Notes: NBA Announces Lakers-Nets Games In Shanghai, Shenzhen

The NBA announced today that the NBA China Games 2019 will feature two preseason matchups between the L.A. Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. They will play on Oct. 10 in Shanghai and in Shenzhen on Oct. 12. The games will mark the Lakers’ second trip to China following their visit in '13. The Nets will be playing in China for the third time. The NBA China Games 2019 will be the league’s 27th and 28th games in China, and they will feature the eighth NBA Fan Day presented by Dongfeng Nissan in Shanghai (NBA).

Epic Games will hold a "Summer Smash" Fortnite tournament at the Australian Open later this month. The A$500,000 ($357,000) prize pool tournament will feature solo and pro-am duos events, with the tournament open to Australia and New Zealand residents ages 16 and over (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 1/8).
