WADA said on Friday that an inspection team will be given access to a Moscow lab and data it has "long demanded," thereby removing the final obstacle to the Russian Anti-Doping Agency's (RUSADA) full reinstatement. A five-person WADA delegation will travel to Moscow and "be allowed to enter the laboratory and have access to samples and other raw data that threatened to derail RUSADA’s conditional reinstatement if not handed over by the end of the year" (REUTERS, 12/14).
Taking the Hong Kong Golf Club away for other land use "would be detrimental to the game at all levels," a senior official warned on Sunday. Speaking ahead of the government’s final review on land occupied by private sports clubs, Hong Kong Golf Association CEO Danny Lai said that it was "imperative that they keep the Fanling facility." Coinciding with the HKGA’s 50th anniversary, a three-pronged plan was launched to develop golf at all levels -- from grassroots to elite. But Lai said that this plan "would fail without proper facility support, currently run by the clubs with flagship Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 12/15).
