Media Notes: Former TA Directors In Hot Water Over Aussie Open TV Deal

Former Tennis Australia directors Harold Mitchell and Steve Healy are "facing Federal Court action by the corporate watchdog over an Australian Open TV broadcast deal." The Australian Securities & Investments Commission launched civil proceedings against the former tennis powerbrokers over the A$200M TV rights to the Melbourne Grand Slam. The case relates to a '13 TA board decision to award broadcast rights for the Open to the Seven Network for five years "without a competitive tender process" (HERALD SUN, 11/19).

Formula 1 partnered with football social media platform Dugout to target millions of fans around the world. The first scheduled collaboration, which will offer prizes, will go live this week. F1 will offer two premium tickets to a '19 F1 GP, an F1 TV Pro season pass and signed F1 merchandise. Dugout will offer signed jerseys from Lionel Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo, among others (F1).

The last Nations League group 1 match between France and the Netherlands, which ended in a 2-2 tie, was watched by an average audience of 1.22 million viewers on TFX in France. The match drew a peak audience of 1.7 million and a 5% market share (L’ÉQUIPE, 11/20).
