Executive Transactions: RFEF Names Álvarez Capón Financial Director

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) named ÁNGEL MANUEL ÁLVAREZ CAPÓN its new financial director. The RFEF "is establishing a new model of economic management" (SPORT, 10/22). ... Former NBA player MIRZA TELETOVIC was on Monday named president of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Basketball Federation. Teletovic said that the Federation "has major financial problems" and added that he will make "radical changes" -- which "he did not specify" -- to "improve the situation and help the clubs" (EFE, 10/22). ... Betting and gaming operator William Hill appointed Travelport Worldwide President & CEO GORDON WILSON to its board. Wilson will join the company's board of directors as an independent non-exec director with effect from Jan. 2 (GAMING INTELLIGENCE, 10/22). ... GABRIELE GRAVINA was elected president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) on Monday, bringing "an end to a year of uncertainty." Gravina was the only candidate and received 97.2% of the votes at an election assembly (AP, 10/22). ... After more than 40 years in the broadcast industry and nearly 20 years as CEO of Host Broadcast Services, FRANCIS TELLIER is retiring. Effective Nov. 1, current CCO & Deputy CEO DAN MIODOWNIK will take over as CEO of the Infront subsidiary and LUC-ANTOINE CHARIAL will be COO, while Tellier will continue to serve as a special adviser to HBS/Infront and non-exec president of Int'l Games Broadcast Services, the production joint venture with IMG (LIVE PRODUCTION, 10/22).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Czech coach PAVEL HAPAL agreed to take over Slovakia's national men's football team. The 49-year-old suceeds JAN KOZAK, who quit after the team's second straight loss in the UEFA Nations League (AP, 10/22). ... Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow sacked Manager MASSIMO CARRERA ahead of its Europa League match against Scottish Premiership side Rangers on Thursday. Spartak Moscow put fitness coach RAÚL RIANCHO in interim charge (BBC, 10/22). ... Spanish second division side Zaragoza sacked coach IMANOL IDIAKEZ. The club also announced that assistants MARIO GIBANEL and NÉSTOR OROZCO "will not remain with Zaragoza" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 10/21).
