José Mourinho "denied any interest in taking over at Real Madrid," stating he wishes to stay as ManU manager beyond his current contract, which ends in the summer of '20, according to Jamie Jackson of the London GUARDIAN. Reports in Spain claimed Mourinho is "seen by Real as a replacement for Julen Lopetegui" following the club's "disappointing" start to the season. Real Madrid is currently in seventh place in La Liga. When asked about potentially becoming Real manager for a second time, Mourinho said, "No. My future is here" (GUARDIAN, 10/22).

NO PUNISHMENT: The BBC reported Mourinho will "not be punished" by the FA for his part in the injury-time fracas at Chelsea on Saturday. But Chelsea coach Marco Ianni was "charged with improper conduct." The incident occurred when Ianni celebrated Chelsea's 96th-minute equalizer in front of the ManU bench. On Monday, Mourinho said that Ianni apologized to him and "deserves a second chance." Mourinho: "I want to thank Chelsea and [Manager Maurizio Sarri]. The Young boy does not deserve more than what he got" (BBC, 10/22).
