Event Notes: 2019 INAS Global Games Will Feature Cricket

The Int'l Sports Federation for Persons with Intellectual Disability (INAS) will feature cricket at its 2019 INAS Global Games for the first time in the event's 16-year history. The cricket competition will be a "tri-nations" series among Australia, England and South Africa, with a goal to include India and Sri Lanka in future INAS competitions (Cricket Australia).

Taupo, New Zealand, won the right to host the 2020 Ironman 70.3 World Championship. It will be the first time an Ironman world championship is held in New Zealand and the second time this event will be hosted in the Oceania region. It will take place from November 28-29, 2020, with the women racing on Saturday and the men racing on Sunday (Ironman).

Swiss telecom Swisscom "teamed up" with tournament organizer ESL to create an esports league. The Swisscom Hero League will feature weekly online competitions in League of Legends, Clash Royale and Hearthstone, "culminating in a live grand finals for all three games" next spring. Swisscom is also "expanding the esports and gaming offering in its TV package." Swisscom TV will add ESportsTV and Ginx TV to its package "along with a number of gaming apps" (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 10/12).

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft
