Media Notes: The Everest To Be Shown In 150 Countries On Saturday

The Everest will be "beamed to a global audience of millions" -- including a live nationwide broadcast on Fox Sports in the U.S. -- when it is run at Royal Randwick on Saturday. TV coverage of "the world’s richest race on turf" will be available in 150 countries around the world and capitalizes on the global interest "generated by the beaming of the barrier draw onto the sails of the Opera House this week" (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 10/10).

Sky announced it extended its rights to show the Masters live in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The agreement covers the exclusive live broadcasting rights via satellite and cable as well as via IPTV, web and mobile. Sky customers will be able to watch live on Sky Go and follow the tournament live via the Sky Ticket streaming option, even without a contract (TELECOMPAPER, 10/10).

World Bowling appointed consultancy Reddentes Sports to develop new broadcast properties, manage the distribution of its media rights and explore new commercial opportunities. Reddentes Sports will oversee the broadcast production and media rights distribution for the upcoming World Bowling Men's Championships in Hong Kong from Nov. 23-Dec. 5 (World Bowling).
