Media Notes: APO Group Forms Strategic Alliance With Kwesé Sports

APO Group announced a strategic alliance with Kwesé Sports aimed at developing the reputation and image of African rugby on a global scale. Kwesé Sports, which owns exclusive TV and digital rights to Rugby Africa's games in sub-Saharan Africa, will get unlimited access to APO Group's Africa Wire press release distribution service, while the firm will include Kwesé Sports' TV and digital assets in sponsorship programs (APO Group).

Video streaming service iflix will offer the Premier League and La Liga to subscribers in Cambodia following a deal with rights holder beIN Media. The service is offering beIN Sports 1 and beIN Sports 2 in Cambodia, "with both live and catch-up options available for subscribers." Same-day match highlights for all Premier League, La Liga and Ligue 1 games "will be available across additional iflix territories in a beIN Sports branded zone to users for free" (RAPID TV NEWS, 8/13).

Polish cable operator UPC Polska is making the UEFA Champions League and Europa League available to its subscribers. This follows the addition of Polsat Sport Premium 1 and Polsat Sport Premium 2 as well as four pay-pay-view services from Polsat Sport Premium to its offer (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 8/14).

Sports channel MySports One is now available free of charge for all digital TV customers of UPC Switzerland "and many other distribution partners." MySports One will show three matches per week from the Swiss Ice Hockey National League, "conferencing, talks with well-known experts, background reports and a magazine." Selected live Bundesliga matches via Sky will also be available (TELECOMPAPER, 8/14).
