Discovery extended the contract of President and CEO DAVID ZASLAV through '23 and "handed the already well-compensated executive a pay raise." Zaslav's target bonus will increase to $22M starting next year, according to a filing made to the securities and exchange commission. His annual salary remains unchanged at $3M. He will also receive nearly 10.8 million stock options which vest through '23 (DEADLINE, 7/18). ... Madison Square Garden named Kroenke Sports & Entertainment VP/Business Intelligence JEREMY SHORT SVP/sales operations, strategy & analytics (THE DAILY). 

COACHES/MANAGERS: Spanish national basketball team head coach SERGIO SCARIOLO will join the NBA Toronto Raptors as an assistant coach. This will be Scariolo's first full-time coaching job in the NBA (EUROHOOPS, 7/19). ... Bulgarian First League club Levski Sofia sacked Italian coach DELIO ROSSI following an early European exit. The club was eliminated by Liechtenstein's Vaduz in the Europa League qualifying round. Angry Levski fans "threw seats and some attempted a pitch invasion" (REUTERS, 7/18).
