Giuliano GiorgettiEleven Sports

Eleven Sports announced the appointment of GIULIANO GIORGETTI as managing director for Italy. Giorgetti, who begins his role immediately, will be responsible for expanding Eleven's growth in Italy. Giorgetti has spent 17 years in the football industry working for AC Milan and Inter Milan. He led Inter Milan's digital revolution, managing the rebrand of the club’s TV channel. Giorgetti will also act as head of digital & commercial partnerships at Eleven's parent company, Aser (Eleven Sports). ... Mexican Football Federation (FMF) President DECIO DE MARÍA resigned from his position. He is "handing over" the reins to YON DE LUISA. FMF's new president's experience includes roles with Televisa Deportes, the 2011 U17 World Cup and Liga MX side Club América (ONEFOOTBALL, 7/16). ... Yorkshire County Cricket Club appointed ROBIN SMITH as its chair following the resignation of STEVE DENISON, who stood down last Tuesday "after three years in the post." Smith previously served as club chair from '03-06 (BBC, 7/16). ... Cricket South Africa confirmed acting CEO THABANG MOROE was appointed to the position "in a permanent capacity on a three-year contract." Moroe, who was previously the VP of the board, has served in a temporary role since September, when he succeeded HAROON LORGAT. Under Moroe, CSA "lurched through several crises, most notably the postponement and ultimate cancellation of their premier 20-over league, the GLT20" (ESPN.com, 7/17). ... RALPH RIMMER was appointed as the full-time CEO of the Rugby Football League, "having covered the post on an interim basis since January." Rimmer, formerly COO of the RFL, filled the role following the departure of NIGEL WOOD earlier this year (BBC, 7/16).

COACHES/MANAGERS: HEIMIR HALLGRIMSSON stepped down as head coach of Iceland's national football team "after seven years." The 51-year-old was named assistant to LARS LAGERBACK in '11 and became joint-manager in '14 prior to becoming sole manager after Euro 2016 (BBC, 7/17).
