Tennis World Middlesbrough Unveils First Phase Of Renovations

Tennis World Middlesbrough "revealed the results" of a £200,000 ($264,349) investment in its facilities, marking the "first phase of the tennis club's biggest overhaul" since opening in '86, according to Richard Bell of BDAILY. Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen was "on hand to unveil the six-figure makeover, which created new indoor and outdoor courts along with LED lighting." The club is also "awaiting planning permission" for a project that will make it the "first in the North East to offer padel tennis, a fast-growing racquet sport" (BDAILY, 7/5). GAZETTE LIVE's Kelley Price reported Tennis World is "working with Middlesbrough Council on a 25-year plan designed to increase the provision of tennis across Teesside."
