Relegated Bangor City Faces Second Winding Up Order

Former Welsh Premier League side Bangor City is facing a second winding up order next month as part of its "ongoing dispute" with U.K. tax authority HMRC, according to Dean Jones of the NORTH WALES CHRONICLE. The club, which was relegated from the league after failing to obtain its FA of Wales Domestic License, "successfully survived an appeal" from HMRC on June 6 in relation to an overdue tax bill, but it "launched a fresh bid in the High Court next month." The club claimed the tax department was "making a mountain out of a molehill" in relation to the late payment, which missed the required deadline "by a matter of days." Bangor City now faces an "anxious wait" before its date with a judge scheduled for Aug. 12, just one day after its first game of the Huws Gray Alliance season against Buckley Town at the VSM Stadium (NORTH WALES CHRONICLE, 7/1).
