Franchise Notes: New Investor Could Take Majority Share In AC Milan

A new investor reportedly could take a majority shareholding in AC Milan, reducing Yonghong Li to a minority owner. Club CEO Marco Fassone was in London on Wednesday to "meet with potential investors." There is reportedly "great optimism" about a new investor in the club, and the new person "could even take a majority share." There are two potential investors, both of whom are American (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 6/21).

League One side Charlton Athletic expects a group of investors linked to the Australian Football Consortium to "complete a takeover of the club." A price for the club was agreed with two parties in February. A joint statement from the club and the investors said that the group had a "significant interest in the long-term prosperity" of Charlton. No timescale has been given for when the sale of the club would be completed (BBC, 6/20).

League Two side Morecambe's new owners are set to "pay off the club's outstanding debts" after their takeover was formally completed. Bond Group Investments agreed to a deal to acquire the club at the start of May (BBC, 6/21).
