Media Notes: European Tour Introduces Podcast Series

The European Tour partnered with Hilton to produce a new podcast series designed to give golf fans insight into life as a professional golfer. The series, hosted by Andrew Cotter and titled "Life on Tour," launched last week with a 50-minute episode featuring former world No. 1 Luke Donald (European Tour).

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) now has more than 1 million followers on Twitter. The RFEF has the second-most Twitter followers of any national federation in Europe, trailing only the FA, which has 1.93 million followers. The Spanish federation is one of "just five in the world with more than 1 million followers on the social media network" (AS, 6/18).

RTÉ asked Sky to investigate why "The Sunday Game" highlights show was "unavailable to GAA fans in Northern Ireland trying to tune in on the Sky platform." Des Cahill presented highlights of the final round of games in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship round-robin series in which Cork and Clare booked their places in the provincial decider with wins over Waterford and Limerick, respectively (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 6/18).

Nordic Entertainment Group acquired the exclusive Nordic media rights to the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Eredivisie, Belgian First Division A and Scottish Premiership until '21, as well as the 2019 Copa América. NENT Group will show up to 1,500 live games a season from the five leagues on its TV channels and streaming services (MTG).

WWE announced tickets will be available June 29 for eight live events that will be recorded for NXT UK, a new U.K. series featuring competitors from the U.K. and Ireland (WWE).

Subban as the Stanley Cup Playoffs get set to start this weekend.
