The IOC said that it will not pay the Int'l Biathlon Union until it elects a new president, "reforms its anti-doping procedures" and reports on how it is investigating past Russian doping cases. The IBU's "longtime" president, Anders Besseberg, stepped down in April after Austrian police raided the organization's HQ, alleging IBU officials had taken $300,000 in bribes from Russia to cover up doping cases between '12 and '17 (AP, 6/12).
TOKYO 2020: KYODO reported the organizing committee of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games plans to cap ticket prices at 300,000 yen ($2,720) while setting a minimum ticket price of 2,000 yen ($18), "sources familiar with the matter" said. The highest-priced tickets are reportedly for the Olympic Games opening ceremony. The most expensive ticket for a sporting event is expected to be 130,000 yen ($1,180) for athletics. The prices will be officially released after approval by the IOC exec board in July (KYODO, 6/12).
