Marketplace Roundup: Nike To Make NZ Shirts In Women's Sizes

Female football fans will "be able to purchase New Zealand shirts after Nike came under pressure to produce women's sizes." Nike released its "new Māori inspired New Zealand football shirts last Friday." However, when the shirts went on sale Saturday, there "were no options for female football fans." Nike said that "women's jerseys would be made available." In a statement, the apparel company said, "Nike and New Zealand Football will release a women's jersey aligning with the Football Ferns playing Japan on Sunday June 10" (STUFF, 5/24).

Nike has received over 3 million orders for Nigeria's World Cup shirt "despite the jersey not being officially on sale until next week." Demand for the country's home and away kit "increased following its unveiling at a launch in February." The kit is not available "to buy for another six days." The new kit is "meant to pay homage to the one the Super Eagles played in" at U.S. in '94 (London DAILY MAIL, 5/23).

Online broker FxPro and McLaren Formula 1 "announced that they have formed a partnership agreement today." Neither firm "detailed the precise timelines involved but the deal will see FxPro sponsoring McLaren for several years." FxPro branding will "feature prominently" on the McLaren MCL33, the team's car of choice (FINANCE MAGNATES, 5/24).

Motorcycle manufacturer Fantic and Dorna World Superbike announced the manufacturer will join the Superbike World Championship as a technical partner (World Superbike).

Bundesliga side Schalke 04 signed a three-year endorsement deal with German telecom Deutsche Glasfaser to "help promote the organization's esports efforts." The deal "will include numerous forms of esports advertising and cooperation, though specific details were not provided." Deutsche Glasfaser will "also receive a box in Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, as well as advertising rights in the area of Club Media archives." No financial deals "were released" (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 5/23).
