FloSports Acquires Rugby Int'l Marketing's Streaming Service

Rugby Int'l Marketing sold its streaming service, therugbychannel.tv, to FloSports, complying with a demand made in February by a group of USA Rugby members alarmed by its high costs and meager returns. Terms were not disclosed. The channel has about 11,000 subscribers and was not profitable. In the deal, FloSports’ FloRugby vertical, founded in Jan. '17, adds the rights to 51 competitions and feature content about the U.S. national teams. The streaming network was the primary asset of RIM, created in '15 by USA Rugby in the image of Soccer United Marketing, with investments by CSM and other minority partners.
