Franchise Notes: AC Milan Owner Due To Pay €10M Toward Capital Increase

AC Milan Owner Yonghong Li is "due to pay" another €10M ($11.7M) "toward a capital increase by Friday, and reports suggest he "could be removed" if it does not arrive. The Chinese businessman bought the club in April '17, but there have been "persistent questions about his financial capital." Li is reportedly due to pay another €10M of the "capital increase approved at a shareholders' meeting" on Friday (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 5/24).

Super Rugby side ACT Brumbies wrote to stakeholders and members to "encourage them to return to the Canberra Stadium stands, warning the club is in danger of ceasing to exist if crowd figures continue an alarming trend." The Brumbies are "attempting to rally rugby supporters in the capital to boost attendance numbers for the next home match against the Japan Sunwolves on June 3." The Brumbies will donate A$15,000 ($11,400) to three charities as part of a "15 for 15" program in the hope of tripling crowd numbers from 5,000 to 15,000 next week (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 5/24).
