ManU is set to appoint COLLETTE ROCHE as the club's first female COO. Roche will become the "highest-placed female working at Old Trafford and the ninth woman in the Premier League to take a boardroom role." Roche is currently the exec director for Manchester Airports Group (BBC, 4/19). ... Scottish Athletics Performance Dir RODGER HARKINS will step down from his role following Scotland's "most successful overseas Commonwealth Games ever." Harkins has been in the position for three-and-a-half years and has "overseen one of the sport’s most successful periods," with a record number of Scottish track and field athletes being selected for the Rio Olympics and the London 2017 World Championships. Harkins also led the Team Scotland track, field and marathon team at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (HERALD SCOTLAND, 4/19). ... The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) elected ROGÉRIO CABOCLO as its president to replace suspended MARCO POLO DEL NERO. Caboclo was the "only candidate on the ballot" and will lead the CBF from '19-23 (AP, 4/17).

COACHES/MANAGERS: A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers Manager JOSEP GOMBAU was fired, "less than six months after succeeding TONY POPOVIC." Gombau "paid the price for a hugely unconvincing campaign" that left his side out of the finals (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 4/18). ... Australian Football League Women's side Fremantle coach MICHELLE COWAN quit her post "after two disappointing seasons at the helm." The club started last year as "premiership favourites but narrowly avoided the wooden spoon with just one win and a draw to show from seven games" (THE AGE, 4/19). ... J.League side Urawa Reds announced OSWALDO OLIVEIRA will take over as manager of the club. The 67-year-old Brazilian will "take the reins" at Urawa next Wednesday (KYODO, 4/18).
