Formula 1 Managing Dir Ross Brawn backed a restaurant data company he "reckons" could be a “game changer” for businesses in the "embattled sector," according to Bradley Gerrard of the London TELEGRAPH. Brawn invested in restaurant review service Yumpingo "with his own cash." The start-up company, which was incorporated in '16 according to documents on Companies House, "allows restaurants’ customers to complete a one-minute review at the end of their meal either on a device provided or on their own mobile phone." Yumpingo makes its money by "charging restaurants which use the service a monthly licence fee per restaurant as well as a monthly rental fee for the hardware." The company said that more than £1M ($1.4M) was raised collectively from Brawn and three other "high-profile investors," including EPL side Crystal Palace Chair Steve Parish (TELEGRAPH, 4/18).
