Marketplace Roundup: Girona Renews Deal With Estrella Damm

Estrella Damm remains a Girona sponsor through '20.Girona

La Liga side Girona renewed its partnership with premium partner Estrella Damm. The beer brand, whose partnership with the club dates back to '12, will remain a sponsor of Girona through '20 (SPORT, 3/27).

England cricketer Ben Stokes secured a new sponsor in cricket equipment manufacturer Gunn & Moore -- "a few months after being dropped by New Balance." It was a "turbulent period" for Stokes, who at the time was under police investigation for his alleged part in a late-night incident in Bristol. He has since "been charged with affray and is awaiting trial, having pleaded not guilty" (London DAILY MAIL, 3/28).

EPL side Southampton appointed Dark Horses as its retained creative agency. The London-based sports marketing agency has been working with the club for the past year on projects including the Secret Southampton series. Dark Horses was chosen to work as an extension of the club's marketing team on key campaigns with club partners. Its first project will be working on the '18-19 kit launch (Dark Horses).

OMEN, the gaming brand of HP Inc., announced a partnership with North American esports organization Counter Logic Gaming. Along with a jersey logo placement, the partnership will include CLG players working with HP product engineers, "while both CLG players and their managers will be training on OMEN desktops and monitors" (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 3/29).

Sports apparel brand Lululemon is hosting its Sweatlife festival again on June 23 and 24. The event will take place at the Tobacco Dock in East London. It will feature yoga classes and wellness sessions as well as "advice on personal development and relationships" (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 3/29).

The Ryder Cup announced Mouton Cadet as its official wine for the third time. This year's event will be staged at Le Golf National in France in September. The Mouton Cadet Limited Edition was specially created for the 2018 Ryder Cup by American winemaker Chiara Mondavi and French master winemaker Pierre Lambert (Ryder Cup).

Puma appointed Fifty Digital to "amplify" Puma Motorsport's digital media channels. The platform-specific brief will involve the agency creating content, implementing digital strategy, managing giveaway competitions, running paid promotion campaigns and engaging influencers (SPORT INDUSTRY, 3/29).
