Marketplace Roundup: Everton Signs SecuTix As Engagement Partner

Everton signed a new ticketing and engagement partner. SecuTix, a provider of sales and audience management services, will handle ticketing and hospitality purchasing for league and cup matches at Goodison Park (BDAILY, 3/19).

Super League rugby side Widnes Vikings partnered with Liverpool John Lennon Airport. The agreement gives LJLA access to branding opportunities across the Vikings' Select Security Stadium "as well as through print and digital channels." The deal includes "positioning on the Vikings’ home and away dugouts, head coach Denis Betts’ press conferences, player interviews and TV advertising within the stadium" (BDAILY, 3/19).

Int'l banking group BNP Paribas extended its title sponsorship of the BNP Paribas Open, the fifth-largest tennis tournament in the world, through '23, the tournament announced on its final day Sunday. BNP Paribas began its title sponsorship in Indian Wells in '09, and "over the course of the new five-year agreement, the bank will become the longest-running title sponsor in the event’s history" (DESERT SUN, 3/18).

OMD UK "landed the media account for global gambling firm Betway" following a four-way pitch in which it secured the account valued at over £30M ($42M) per year. OMD will handle media services on Betway’s behalf within the U.K. from April, "broadening its existing client base," which includes Barclays, PepsiCo and McDonald's (THE DRUM, 3/19).

Javier Mascherano, the second-most capped player on Argentina’s national football team, announced a partnership with Latin American esports agency eSports Planet. The former Barcelona defender currently plays for Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 3/19).
