West Ham Secures Meeting With London Mayor Sadiq Khan

West Ham "finally secured a meeting" with London Mayor Sadiq Khan for "crisis talks about the London Stadium" four months after the club's first approach, according to Alex Miller of the London DAILY MAIL. The club was granted a meeting with Khan a week from Sunday, but a club source "revealed it has taken eight letters to his office to finally prompt a discussion over the fractured relationship between the club and stadium operators." West Ham Vice-Chair Karren Brady said, "We have tried for two years to resolve the many issues that have culminated into a broader frustration among our supporters. I now have a meeting with the Mayor, which has been scheduled for March 26." After the pitch invasions and other troubles during the 3-0 defeat to Burnley last week, West Ham co-Owners David Gold and David Sullivan asked Khan to "urgently address the appalling scenes, the lack of planning and the lack of action from the operators he appointed." West Ham's owners "were furious at the woeful stewarding which saw fans allowed onto the pitch unchallenged on four separate occasions." The club first contacted Khan in November, after accounting firm Moore Stephens "delivered a long-awaited report into the finances of the stadium" (DAILY MAIL, 3/17).
