La Liga Launches 20-Episode TV Series Highlighting Spanish Cities

La Liga launched La Liga Cities, a TV series about the cities that host La Liga matches. The aim of the program, which will be aired by La Liga TV and beIN La Liga in Spain and by around 30 of the league's int'l rights holders, is to promote tourism across Spain. Each episode explores a particular city's history, culture and leisure scene. Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Valencia and Bilbao are among the cities featured in the 20-episode series, with each lasting 25 minutes. La Liga President Javier Tebas said, "Football is a major attraction that draws millions of fans from all over the planet to our country and brings them into contact with the art, culture and food on offer in Spain. Using football as a tool, we want La Liga Cities to allow us to continue to do our bit to support the Spanish Brand (Marca España) in its efforts to reach every corner of the globe." Each matchday, La Liga is seen by TV viewers across 182 countries courtesy of the institution's 90 broadcasters. During the '16-17 campaign, the competition attracted a total audience of 2.6 billion (La Liga).
