Media Notes: Austria's Servus TV To Show Six Live Bundesliga Games

Austrian commercial channel Servus TV will show six live games of the Bundesliga "on its free-to-air channel in Austria this season." The deal is "based on a partnership between the broadcaster owned by energy drink manufacturer Red Bull and Bundesliga pay-TV rights holder Sky Deutschland" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/5).

The Association of Irish Racecourses is "expected to recommend the acceptance of a new deal" that will see live racing in the country move from At the Races to Racing UK. It follows the '16 deal between rights holder Satellite Information Services and Horse Racing Ireland’s media rights committee. It holds the rights until '23. While At the Races is available free-to-air, Racing UK is a premium channel costing €31 ($38) a month. However, unlike At the Races, it is available in the HD format (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/6).

OTT provider Magine TV will offer Eurosport 1 HD "instead of the sports channel’s SD version to its customers in Germany" in the future. Sister channels DMAX HD and TLC HD will "also continue to be available on the platform as part of the renewal of the free-to-air TV distribution agreement between Discovery Networks Deutschland and Magine TV" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/6).
