Korea Baseball Organization Names Shinhan Bank Title Sponsor In Three-Year, $23M Deal

South Korean lender Shinhan Bank was named the title sponsor of the Korea Baseball Organization on Tuesday, according to YONHAP. KBO Commissioner Chung Un-chan and Shinhan Bank CEO Wi Sung-ho signed a three-year partnership deal worth 24B won ($22.6M) at a Seoul hotel. Shinhan will have exclusive title sponsorship rights at KBO events, including the All-Star Game and postseason games. Next season, the pro baseball league will be officially called the "2018 Shinhan Bank MY CAR KBO League." KBO said that its deal with Shinhan Bank "is the most expensive title sponsorship in South Korean pro sports." The KBO previously had a three-year title sponsorship worth 21B won with local tire retailer Tirebank (YONHAP, 1/16).
