World Rugby Launches Simplified Law Book To Enhance Understanding
World Rugby’s "simplified law book" was launched Tuesday with the aim of enhancing accessibility and understanding without altering the laws themselves. The new law book, which can be accessed at laws.worldrugby.org, and is the product of almost two years’ work by a specialist group. The new edition is 42% shorter than the current one (World Rugby). RUGBY.COM.AU's Beth Newman reported the book was developed by a group of representatives from various areas. World Rugby Chair Bill Beaumont said that the law book would "help grow rugby." He said, "As our game continues to grow around the world, we continue to strive to make the sport as accessible to all." The current laws can be "difficult to understand for new participants and fans" (RUGBY.COM.AU, 1/2).
