Jesús León Acquires Spanish Second Division Side Córdoba, Reports Claim

Jesús León is the new owner of Spanish second division side Córdoba, according to J.A. Alba of AS. The deal "is official, though it has not yet been publicly confirmed." After "several days of negotiations," León bought previous Owner Carlos González's shares in the club for €8.5M ($10.1M), "ending González's six-and-a-half-year tenure." León "previously tried to acquire the club," including once when he offered more than €8.5M. León will be accompanied by Luis Oliver, who will be the club's sporting director. Córdoba's new owner "intends to make investments during the winter transfer period to keep the team in the second division" (AS, 12/20).
