Media Notes: DMAX To Provide Free-To-Air Coverage Of PyeongChang 2018 In Spain

Discovery-owned DMAX will offer free-TV coverage of PyeongChang 2018 in Spain, "with an emphasis on Spanish athletes." The channel will provide live coverage of "the most relevant events and all action involving Spanish athletes," while Eurosport 1 will air "the best of the Games," Eurosport 2 will be the home of ice hockey and Eurosport Player will give fans access "to every second of the Olympics" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 12/19).

The Asian Football Confederation confirmed the tender for sale of the commercial rights for the two cycles between '21 and '28 will be published on Feb. 1. After a rescheduling, approved by the AFC exec committee in Bangkok in November, it was decided that the rights tender will be issued to both agencies and broadcasters (AFC). 

Eleven Sports' OTT service in Italy won the Best Sports Web TV Award at the seventh edition of the Italian Sports Awards. It is the fourth consecutive year that Eleven Sports has won the award (Eleven Sports). 

YouTube Gaming revealed a new addition to the ECS Season 4 Finals stream -- loot boxes. YouTube's partnership with FACEIT expanded to reward viewers with "Loot Drops." A press release said, "These rewards can be redeemed for a variety of real-world prizes, including computer hardware, branded merchandise or even a customized automobile" (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 12/19).
