Media Notes: Sportsfix Acquires Serie A Streaming Rights In Malaysia

Sportsfix, a recently-launched OTT service in Southeast Asia, secured the live rights to Serie A for the remainder of the '17-18 season. The deal with Serie A's current global media rights holder, MP & Silva, "will see Sportsfix become the exclusive streaming partner of Italy's top flight in Malaysia." The online platform will provide its subscribers with three live matches per week starting this weekend. Financial terms of the one-year agreement have not been made public (SOCCEREX, 11/15).

Eurosport agreed to broadcast the US Open across Europe, excluding the U.K. and Ireland, "where Eurosport had historically sub-licensed the rights," for a further five years. The new deal runs until '22 (ADVANCED TELEVISION, 11/15).

German car channel auto motor und sport is now available on OTT platform Amazon Channels. For €2.99 ($3.94) per month, selected programs of the pay-TV channel can be watched on demand "in HD quality" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 11/15).

Hungarian broadcaster Antenna Hungária launched a standalone OTT sports service. AH Broadcast & Media Services Division Dir Henrik Schneider said that MindiGO Sport is the first standalone OTT product from the company. He added that AH found that although high-profile sports events were offered by a number of companies including MTVA, AMC and Discovery, there was a "whole niche of niche sports that they did not cover," including esports and extreme sports (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 11/15).

Broadcast on TF1, Tuesday's Germany-France friendly drew an average audience of 6.6 million viewers, for a market share of 27%. The match, which ended in a 2-2 draw, attained a peak audience of 7.5 million viewers (L’ÉQUIPE, 11/15).
