Event Notes: Red Bull Air Race To Hold Its First Event In France In '18
Red Bull Air Race, launched in ’05, will hold its first stage in France in April. Cannes will host the event from April 20-22. It will be shown on TV in 149 countries. The promoters are expecting close to 100,000 spectators over the three days. Ticket prices range from €80-€800 ($93-$931) (20 MINUTES, 11/8).
The Olympic Club in San Francisco will host the 2028 PGA Championship and 2032 Ryder Cup. Although the club's Lake Course, opened in 1924 and has hosted five U.S. Opens, it will be the "first time either the PGA Championship or Ryder Cup has been staged on the layout." Le Golf National in Paris will host the 42nd Ryder Cup next September followed by Whistling Straits in Wisconsin in '20 (London INDEPENDENT, 11/9).
Anthony Joshua will fight Deontay Wilder next year, according to the British fighter’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, who "started talks over a world heavyweight title unification bout." Joshua and Wilder have appeared "certain to meet" since the former beat Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley in April to add the WBA title to his IBF version (London GUARDIAN, 11/9).
