Star India Grabs New Zealand Cricket Rights Through April '20
After winning the media rights to the Indian Premier League, Star India "picked up broadcast and digital rights for New Zealand Cricket" through April '20, according to the ECONOMIC TIMES. The rights for the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia include all men’s and women’s int'l matches played in New Zealand for the next three years. Team India is expected to play a total of three Tests, 10 ODIs and three T20 matches during this period in New Zealand. The first tournament to be broadcast under Star Sports’ partnership with New Zealand Cricket will be West Indies’ tour of New Zealand beginning Dec. 1. The partnership will also see Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand and the tri-series between Australia, New Zealand and England in early '18 (ECONOMIC TIMES, 11/7).
