Footballer Joey Barton said that his lawyers will "try to recoup a settlement fee he paid" to League One side Blackpool's owners in '15. Having described the Oyston family as "asset strippers," Barton "was threatened with legal action and settled out of court." Online gambling company Sportech said that it would "provide suitors with access to its books" as part of an estimated £200M ($263.4M) sale process. The company added that "it expected to conclude the initial round of discussions by the end of the year, with a timetable for seeking offers by the end of January." Sportech kicked off a strategic review almost two months ago, "although it did not launch a formal sale process until last month after receiving preliminary approaches to acquire the company" (LONDON TIMES, 11/7).
A U.S. consortium is reportedly "interested in buying" League of Ireland Premier Division side Dundalk. There has been no bid nor is there any indication that Owners Andy Connolly and Paul Brown "wish to sell."
