Ski jumper EDDIE EDWARDS was announced as the keynote speaker for the Sarawak Int'l Business Expo & Conference EU in Spain next month. The meeting forum, which brings together industry suppliers and operators from the private, local authority and trust markets in health, fitness and leisure, will take place at the Don Carlos Leisure Resort and Spa in Marbella, from Nov. 8-11 (SPORTS MANAGEMENT, 10/16). ... HARRY KANE is worth more than the £200M ($264M) that Paris St. Germain paid for NEYMAR, according to Tottenham Chair DANIEL LEVY in the "strongest indication yet" of the club’s determination to hold on to its striker. Tottenham’s position is that it "will not listen to offers" for its top players, with DELE ALLI also of interest to Real Madrid and Barcelona, but the club’s previous actions suggest that its players are "available at a certain price" (LONDON TIMES, 10/17). ... Pakistan cricketer KHALID LATIF was handed a five-year ban and fined 1M rupees ($9,490) by the anti-corruption tribunal after being found guilty of "six breaches of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s anti-corruption code." The detailed order of the tribunal confirmed the three-member bench found Latif guilty off all six charges brought against him by the PCB in the spot-fixing case during the Pakistan Super League in Dubai in February (PTI, 10/17).

U.S. GP START: Jamaican sprinter USAIN BOLT will "trade the running track for the race track" after he was confirmed as the official starter for Formula 1's U.S. Grand Prix. He will give the signal to LEWIS HAMILTON and company to "start their formation lap ahead of Sunday's race in Austin." As part of a "star-studded line-up thrown together" by F1 owner Liberty Media for its first grand prix on home soil, boxing announcer MICHAEL BUFFER will introduce Hamilton and the rest of the pack. Liberty also took the "unprecedented step of changing the sport's schedule to accommodate a JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE concert" (PA, 10/17).
