Haas Formula 1 Team Principal Gunther Steiner is "in discussions with Malaysian Grand Prix officials regarding compensation for damage incurred" by Haas driver Romain Grosjean's car. Grosjean had his right rear tire "destroyed when he ran over a drain cover" that had been dislodged by Valtteri Bottas' Mercedes at Turn 13 (MOTORSPORT, 10/3).

The "fight against cheating in cycling became that much more urgent" on Sunday when a 43-year-old rider was caught using a hidden motor in a French federation race in the Dordogne. In an operation that involved the local police, the man was stopped by Christophe Bassons, a former Tour de France rider who now works for the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) (LONDON TIMES, 10/3).
