U.S. commentator and podcast host JOE ROGAN apologized to "any offended New Zealanders" after calling the haka "stupid." Rogan "took aim at the traditional Maori war cry" on a podcast with actor HANNIBAL BURESS, attacking the haka of the New Zealand national basketball team. Rogan said, "This is ridiculous, they're playing basketball. You're playing NBA superstars you f**cking dummies ... It seems stupid." After receiving criticism for his comments, Rogan "walked it back" on social media (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 9/11). ... Kazakhstan Football Federation VP AISULTAN NAZARBAYEV admitted he has "been in a battle with drug addiction." Nazarbayev "shocked the country by posting the confession on his Facebook page." Nazarbayev is the 27-year-old grandson of Kazakhstan President NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV (ESPN.com, 9/11).

Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
