Media Notes: BT Sport Drowns Out Pro-IRA Chants During Scottish Premiership Match

BT Sport admitted "drowning out pro-IRA chants" by a section of the Scottish Premiership side Celtic support during Friday's match against Hamilton Accies. In the first half, songs about the IRA were heard and viewers were "quick to spot a noticeable drop in volume when some Hoops fans belted out Merry Ploughboy." It emerged TV execs adjusted the sound during the chant (Scottish SUN, 9/10).

German TV broadcaster Sport1 will bring its sports radio station, Sport1.fm, back on air. A Sport1 spokesperson said, "On Sport1.fm, formats from the Sport1 world will soon be made available including Der Check24 Doppelpass and Fantalk. The live transmissions of the UEFA Europa League will also be part of Sport1.fm" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 9/8).
