Table Tennis England secured £9M ($11.7M) in funding "after voting to back reforms." The body had previously rejected the changes, "freezing the contribution made to the game by Sport England." NSW jockeys will earn a riding fee "on par with their Victorian counterparts" after the Racing NSW board "rubber-stamped a pay rise." Racing NSW "gave the green light over the weekend to lift the standard riding fee" to A$200 ($157.12) -- up from A$187 ($146.91). The fee is not inclusive of 9.5% superannuation, which is "paid separately into a jockey's fund of choice" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 8/14).
Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced he will "soon set up his coaching academy in Dubai." Pacific Sports Club will "launch its operations in the UAE."
