Former Dutch Olympic speed skating champion BOB DE JONG arrived in South Korea on Tuesday to "begin his tenure as an assistant coach of the national team." The 40-year-old was appointed to the post by the Korea Skating Union on April 26 (YONHAP, 5/16). ... Former South Korean short track speed skater KIM HYE-KYUNG has been named the head coach of the Turkish national team, officials in Istanbul said on Tuesday. The Turkish Ice Skating Federation said that Kim "recently signed on to take over its national team" and will start training with the athletes on June 1 (YONHAP, 5/16).
