The Victoria Racing Club, home of the Melbourne Cup, announced the "shock resignation" of CEO SIMON LOVE. He was appointed to the post in '15. Love's relationship with some board members reportedly "deteriorated in recent months." AMANDA ELLIOTT, the first female chair of the VRC is "about to embark on the rebuilding of a new grandstand, which is one of the major priorities in Victorian racing" (THE AGE, 5/16). ... JAVIER SALINAS will succeed PLINIO ESCALANTE BOLIO as president of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) at the conclusion of the '17 season. LMB Administrative Council President GERARDO BENAVIDES PAPE made the announcement (LA JORNADA, 5/16). ... Sport and entertainment agency PrettyGreen is "expanding its Sports Division," with the appointment of DAN MASON as senior account exec. Mason joins from sports and entertainment communications agency Clifford French, where he worked on NFL UK and Euro 2016 (THE DRUM, 5/16).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Liga MX side Necaxa named IGNACIO AMBRIZ its new coach. He replaces ALFONSO SOSA. Ambriz played for the club from '95-96 (LA AFICIÓN, 5/15). ... Former Dutch Olympic speed skating champion BOB DE JONG arrived in South Korea on Tuesday to "begin his tenure as an assistant coach of the national team." The 40-year-old was appointed to the post by the Korea Skating Union on April 26 (YONHAP, 5/16). ... Former South Korean short track speed skater KIM HYE-KYUNG has been named the head coach of the Turkish national team, officials in Istanbul said on Tuesday. The Turkish Ice Skating Federation said that Kim "recently signed on to take over its national team" and will start training with the athletes on June 1 (YONHAP, 5/16).
