Media Notes: NBC Sports Partners With Cricket Australia To Cover BBL|06

NBC Sports has partnered with Cricket Australia and will cover 10 matches during BBL|06 including the semifinals and final on delay. The U.S. media company struck an agreement with CA that will bring the BBL into 85 million homes. Coverage of BBL|06 begins on NBCSN on Dec. 20 at 3:30am ET (BBL).

David White, one of the former footballers who said that he had been the victim of child sex abuse, "questioned why the BBC prevented him from working as a pundit on last night's match" between Man City and Watford. White, a former Man City player, "indicated that he had been prevented from covering the match for legal reasons as a result of going public with allegations that he suffered abuse" while playing for the Whitehill junior team in Manchester in the late '70s and early '80s. The BBC said, "We are fully supportive of what David has been through. We made changes to our commentary team in light of legal advice. We're looking forward to having David on air again soon" (LONDON TIMES, 12/15).

The Coupe de la Ligue round of eight match between Paris St. Germain and Lille, which PSG won 3-1, “was watched by an average of only” 1.9 million viewers on France 3. The number translated to a market share of 8.4% (L’ÉQUIPE, 12/15).
