NFL Player Odell Beckham Jr. Visits Bayern Munich As Club, League Look To Collaborate
NFL player ODELL BECKHAM JR. showed off his football skills during a visit to Munich, Germany, last week. Bundesliga club Bayern Munich invited the N.Y. Giants wide receiver to hang out with the team after practice. Beckham, who is reportedly a fan of the German champions, also received a personalized No. 13 jersey from the club.
Bayern Munich and the NFL shared videos and images of Beckham's visit to Germany on their social media accounts, using the hashtag #OBJinGermany. Beckham even challenged Bayern's XABI ALONSO
to a juggling contest in which the Spaniard had to use an American football.
SBD Global understands that the NFL and the Bundesliga club are discussing doing more cross-promotional events going forward. Bayern Munich, which opened its first int'l office in N.Y. in '14, continues to look for ways to increase its presence in the U.S., while the NFL has global ambitions that include a potential regular-season game in Germany.
