Marketplace Roundup: Nissan's Champions League Deal To Go Global Through '17-18

UEFA Champions League automotive sponsor Nissan has extended its partnership into all global territories for the next three seasons through '17-18. Nissan activations including TV broadcast sponsorships around live matches will take place across more than 40 additional countries including Brazil, China, Japan and the U.S. (Nissan). ... Majestic has been named the official wine supplier to Ben Ainslie's '17 America's Cup team. The three-year sponsorship deal with Ainslie's Land Rover BAR team will see Majestic supply red and white wine to the team's hospitality areas during America's Cup events (HARPERS, 8/26). ... Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) side Bayern Munich has agreed to a partnership with Air Dolomiti as its official airline partner. The Italy-based subsidiary of Lufthansa has signed a deal with the club unitl '18 (Bayern Munich). ... Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund has signed a new sponsorship deal with gas station chain Aral (Borussia Dortmund). ... Bundesliga club Hannover 96 agreed to a partnership with Austrian company Harreither. The heating and cooling company will receive ad space on LED boards at the HDI Arena (Hannover 96). ... Heineken "turned London landmark Somerset House into a rugby stadium using 270 degree projection at an event to celebrate its rugby World Cup sponsorship." The event hosted 900 guests at the London venue "and featured a set from British band Everything Everything to kick off the partnership." Rugby players Jonah Lomu, Will Carling, John Smit, Matt Dawson and Scott Quinnell "joined for the projection experience" (MARKETING MAGAZINE, 8/27).
