Bolivian Football Federation President CARLOS CHÁVEZ was fired on Tuesday. He has been imprisoned since July on corruption charges. MARCO ANTONIO ORTEGA was named interim president. The decision was "taken unanimously by the directors of the 12 clubs affiliated with the FBF" (BOLIVIA.COM, 8/25). ... Scottish Rugby Union CEO MARK DODSON "has signed a new five-year contract." Dodson joined the organization in '11 and "is now committed to the governing body until after the Japan World Cup." The SRU "highlighted Dodson's performance in forging links with corporate partners BT, RBS and Macron and strengthening Scotland's two professional teams" (BELFAST TELEGRAPH, 8/26). ... Marriott Golf announced that golf industry veteran BRETT STARK has been named senior director, marketing and e-commerce. Stark comes to Marriott Golf from Chicago-based EZ Links Golf. Stark will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing programs designed to drive incremental rounds of golf and room/golf packages at the company's managed resorts, as well as management fees, consulting fees and technical services fees. Further, Stark will work closely with all Marriott Golf-managed properties to optimize the system-wide implementation and success of programs across the entire organization (Marriott Golf). ... The Champions Hockey League appointed ALEX JAEGER (Sports Manager), FLORIAN MAYER (Sports & Marketing Coordinator) and MONIKA REINHARD-BRAND (Communications Manager) to join its head office in Zurich. Jaeger and Mayer started their new positions in July. Reinhard-Brand will join on Oct. 1. CHL COO SZYMON SZEMBERG is leaving the organization. Szemberg has decided to pursue a new challenge outside the CHL and will resign from his position by the end of August. Szemberg was hired by the IIHF in Feb. '01 and was promoted to communications director in May '07. He played a major role coordinating the working groups which during '13 determined the future structure for the CHL (CHL). ... Colombian first division side Millonarios announced that coach RICARDO LUNARI is leaving the club. Millonarios said that it will announce his replacement this week. Lunari arrived at the club as a replacement for JUAN MANUEL LILLO in Sept. '14 (AS, 8/26).
