The German Hockey League's (DEL) supervisory council decided to extend the contract with Managing Dir GERNOT TRIPCKE for another three years until Dec. 31, 2018. Tripcke joined the league in '97 and became its managing director in '00 (DEL). ... The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) has confirmed ALEXANDER REIL as its president. The chairman of BBL club MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg will lead the league for the next three years. The league also confirmed VPs MARCO BALDI (Alba Berlin) and ROBERT WINTERMANTEL (Walter Tigers Tübingen) in their positions. Brose Baskets Bamberg Managing Dir ROLF BEYER will also join the now four-member leadership group (BBL). ... Real Madrid board member LUIS BLASCO BOSQUED "presented his resignation in a letter to the club" and will take over broadcaster DTS. He will preside over the Telefónica-owned company and "his objective will consist of developing and commercializing pay-TV platforms Canal+ and YOMVI" (MARCA, 7/6). ... Canal+ CEO RODOLPHE BELMER has been "ousted from his post following a meeting" on Monday by the French pay-TV channel's supervisory board, on the "recommendation" of Management Board Chair BERTRAND MÉHEUT. Belmer will be replaced by MAXIME SAADA, who joined Canal+ in '01 and previously served as EVP of the Canal Plus Group and and head of pay-TV. The board also appointed Canal+ CFO GRÉGOIRE CASTAING to its management board (DEADLINE, 7/3). ... GAIZKA GARITANO will be the new coach of Spanish second division side Real Valladolid for the '15-16 season. Garitano previously coached Eibar (EFE, 7/6). ... Officials at Tennis Scotland and the LTA will sit down this week with LEON SMITH to "thrash out a deal" that will see the Glaswegian Great Britain Davis Cup captain also assume responsibilities as Scotland's new national coach. The 39-year old -- ANDY MURRAY's first coach -- will "retain his Davis Cup role, where he has been phenomenally successful, winning nine out of 11 ties and taking Britain from the brink of relegation into Europe/Africa Zone Group III" and into successive World Group quarterfinals. The post of national coach, once held by JUDY MURRAY, has "effectively been unfilled" since KAREN ROSS replaced ELLINORE LIGHTBODY in '10 (HERALD SCOTLAND, 7/5).
