FIFA Women's World Cup Quarterfinal Draws 7.5 Million Viewers On ZDF

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded more than 7 million viewers for its broadcast of the Women's World Cup quarterfinal match between Germany and France on Friday," according to Robert Meyer of QUOTENMETER. The game, which kicked off at 10pm, was watched by 7.5 million viewers. The number translated into a market share of 36.6%. In the target demographic 14-49, Germany's 5-4 victory after penalty kicks obtained a 28.4% share (QUOTENMETER, 6/27).

MORE SPORTS ON TV: QUOTENMETER's Kevin Kyburz reported German free-to-air TV channel Sport1 attracted 70,000 viewers for its broadcast of the Baku 2015 European Games on Thursday. In the target demo, the multi-sports event from Azerbaijan drew 10,000 viewers. The numbers translated into a market share of 1%, including 0.3% in the target demo. Pan-European sports network Eurosport recorded even lower ratings for its broadcast of the ATP tournament in Nottingham. The tennis event drew 50,000 viewers and had a 0.3% share. In the target demo, the tournament drew less than 10,000 viewers and obtained a 0.1% share (QUOTENMETER, 6/26).
