Official DFB-Pokal Sponsors Largely Unknown In Germany, Survey Finds

Only a few peope in Germany "know the official sponsors of the DFB Pokal (German Cup)," according to Kathrin Hartmann of SPONSORs. Seventy percent of Germans do not know what companies are the official partners of the competition, according to a survey. The survey was conducted by market research company YouGov on behalf of SPONSORs. People were presented with 11 companies involved in sports sponsorships, including the six official DFB-Pokal partners. The best known DFB-Pokal partner is Volkwagen, which was correctly indentified by 13% of the people questioned in the survey. Volkswagen signed on as a partner of the competition in the summer of '13. As part of the deal, the Volkswagen logo is featured on the right sleeve of every team competing in the competition (SPONSORs, 5/28).
