Pakenham Synthetic's $7M Polytrack Track Receives Seal Of Approval

Pakenham Synthetic's polytrack race track "received a seal of approval from trainers and jockeys after the opening day of racing" at the A$9M ($7M) track, according to Michael Manley of the HERALD SUN. Pakenham Synthetic is the "second synthetic track to be opened in Victoria with the Geelong Synthetic track," which opened in '07. It is the first polytrack in Australia. Hall Of Fame jockey Glen Boss said that the polytrack surface was the "same as the inner circuit at Kranji, Singapore." Boss: "It's world class. The track felt just like the Singapore track as like it's in great shape." The only "criticism came from punters as horses that led on the fence wilted in the closing stages in most races" (HERALD SUN, 5/26).
