Marketplace Roundup: Kaiserslautern Loses Shirt Sponsor Paysafecard After One Season

Second Bundesliga side FC Kaiserslautern "has to look for a new shirt sponsor after Paysafecard decided not to renew its partnership." Paysafecard Managing Dir Udo Müller said that the one-year shirt deal "has more than fulfilled" the company's expectations (SPONSORs, 5/22). ... German football clubs Kaiserslautern, Schalke and Union Berlin "have agreed to deals with Hamburg-based agency Match IQ." The agency will support the clubs with organizing and planning their respective preseasons. The contracts with Schalke and Union Berlin with run until '18. The cooperation with Kaiserslautern will end in '17 (SPONSORs, 5/22). ... Danish sportswear brand Hummel has extended its partnership with Handball Bundesliga (HBL) side HSG Wetzlar for another three years. Hummel has been a partner of the club since the '12-13 season (Hummel). ... ManU announced an extension to its partnership with technology developer Epson. Epson became the club’s official office equipment supplier in '10. The new agreement will see the two global organizations team up together for a further three years. Epson will continue to supply ManU with core office and front-of-house printing and imaging equipment, as well as benefiting from branding in and around Old Trafford (ManU). ... Scottish Premiership side Inverness Caledonian Thistle agreed a contract extension which will see Subway continue as main sponsor for the '15-16 season. Subway committed a six-figure sum (ICTFC). ... The Bangladesh Cricket Board declared mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Ltd. "as the sponsor of the Bangladesh team for the next two years." Robi will be the sponsor of the Bangladesh team, the U19 team and the Bangladesh A team. However, their rights "will not be applicable" for the Int'l Cricket Council tournaments. The BCB "will auction team sponsorship rights" for the U19 World Cup and the 2016 World T20 at a later date (ESPN, 5/21). ... The Football League agreed to a new official car partnership with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK. The two-year deal kicked off at the Sky Bet Play-Off Finals at Wembley Stadium, where Fiat was an event partner with perimeter, center circle and giant screen branding opportunities (Football League).

: Barcelona next season will have a new kit from Nike in which the blaugrana stripes will be horizontal by the horizontal stripes of the blaugrana flags that are waved by the fans on match day at Camp Nou. The horizontal stripes have been seen before on kits for the basketball, rugby and track and field teams at Barcelona. However, it is the first time that the football team will have horizontal stripes on its kit (Barcelona). ... La Liga side Valencia traveled to the U.S. on Monday and will stay until Friday. On Tuesday at 1pm the club will visit the United Nations headquarters to sign an agreement with UN Women. Valencia is the first sports club to become an ambassador for the UN agency that defends the rights of women and gender equality. The team will play an LFP World Challenge game against Major League Soccer club Columbus Crew on Wednesday night (Valencia)
