League Notes: Sports Scientist Stephen Dank Faces WorkSafe Criminal Probe

Stephen Dank, the sports scientist who designed and implemented Australian Football League side Essendon's ill-fated supplements program, "will be compelled by WorkSafe to provide information about the substances he administered to footballers" as the agency's criminal investi­gation gathers momentum. Investigators are also likely to require Dank to "produce any documents he has detailing his work at Essendon" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 5/5). ... Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and Pakistan paceman Wahab Riaz have been fined for a "heated on-pitch argument during the final day of the drawn first Test between the sides." The Int'l Cricket Council said in a press release that Hasan and Riaz had 30% of their match fee docked for breaching the ICC's code of conduct during the Test in Khulna (AFP, 5/4). ... ChyronHego announced on Monday that the J.League has rolled out the ChyronHego TRACAB to provide advanced player tracking capabilities for all 18 J.League teams and venues. TRACAB will cover more than 300 J.League matches during the current Japanese football season, which launched March 3 (ChyronHego).
